About This Project

**##Overview##** One of Malaysia’s most successful national development programs that started in 1997 is Cyberjaya, a 28.94 sq miles (7,000 acres) IT-Themed City with a science park as its core. Developed to become a centre of multimedia and advanced learning, state-of-the-art infrastructure technology and IT-systems combined with advanced transportation services with the aim of attracting world-class companies and to promote R & D activities. All of which are part of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) initiative that aims for a ‘quantum jump’ to make Sepang - Malaysia’s ‘Silicon Valley’ or global ICT-technological hub. Its population in 2017 is around 100,000 and is forecasted to reach 200,000 by 2020. Cyberjaya’s current Master developer is Setia Haruman Sdn.Bhd. (SHSB) while managing and operations is undertaken by Cyberview Sdn.Bhd. This mammoth development involved many organizations, agencies, and companies over the years and overcame some setbacks to reach its current stage of growth. Formerly palm oil estates, and before that, tin mining land, it is now replaced by landed and high-rise residential developments, recreational complexes and lush greenery, commercial centres and corporate HQ buildings, universities, government offices, and wide winding roads, etc. It’s quite an interesting, and unique experience to visit and drive around Cyberjaya, let alone reside here. **##Amenities & Facilities##** Shaftsbury Square, D’Pulze, Serin Residency, and others are some of the high-rise apartments and condominiums built here while some of the existing landed properties are Sejati Residences, Symphony Hills, and Summer Glades which offer pleasant and serene living. With myriad choices of restaurants, cafes, retail outlets, banks, clinics, and services which are located in shopping malls, commercial centres as well as at podiums of high-rise offices and condominiums, the resident here are spoilt for choice. Universities like MultiMedia University and Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology together with Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences, Cyber Putra College, and Kirkby International College make Cyberjaya a centre of learning and research. There is SK Cyberjaya, Sekolah Menengah Cyberjaya and Sekolah Seri Puteri to cater to school students’ academic needs here. What is still lacking here is a hospital or medical centre or government polyclinic. In various spots are outdoors recreational facilities like a mini park adjacent to Multimedia University, the 3.5 km promenade area next to Putrajaya Lake, Sports Arena with 350, multi-sport venues, a football field and a small food court. Indoor recreational venues include Cyberjaya Community Club with various games courts, a gym, a swimming pool, go-kart circuit and golf driving range. Cyberjaya Lake Gardens (400 acres), the ‘green lung’, with a 15 acres main lake area, 29 acres of natural forest and wetlands, and 86 acres for amenities like Visitors’ Information Centre, broadwalk, look-out towers, and children’s playgrounds. **##Accessibility & Transportation##** Persiaran Sepang, Persiaran MultiMedia, and Persiaran Apec and are some of the main avenues that link the various sections of Cyberjaya together. They also provide accessibility to Cyberjaya from other areas of Klang Valley, KL, KLIA and other states by linking up with the MEX, ELITE and SKVE Expressways which in-turn are linked with the NKVE and North-South Highways. There are bus routes along certain avenues thus meeting the transportation needs, within this area, of students here. There is an ERL station (part of Putrajaya Sentral) shared by Putrajaya and Cyberjaya for a train service to these two areas via KLIA Transit. There are feeder buses running from Putrajaya Sentral to the rest of Putrajaya and Cyberjaya which are in tune with the train services timetable. There are bus services to other parts of Klang Valley using Putrajaya Sentral while the Cyberjaya Transport Terminal is the only bus terminal here with taxis services available.
