HULU SELANGOR: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has promised to resolve abandoned projects in Sungai Buaya, Bukit Botak and Bukit Cerakah soon.
Abdul Khalid said a three-month grace period would be given for any interested developers to come forward and revive the projects.
The state government would take over the 1,000 acres (about 400 hectares) if there were no suitable developers for the projects, he told reporters on April 23 after meeting residents in Sungai Buaya.
Felda settlers who were involved in the Felda scheme had demanded compensation as promised by the developer who had taken over their land since the mid 1990s.
The settlers have received only RM250,000 of the RM1 million compensation promised, as the project was abandoned due to the economic crisis in 1997. -- Bernama
