KUALA LUMPUR: One Bangsar Sdn Bhd, manager of the nine restaurants within the One Bangsar complex along Jalan Ara in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur has taken legal action challenging Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) decision for them to vacate the premises.
Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail was recently quoted in a local English daily saying DBKL will ask the restaurants to cease operations. It will no longer extend their licences. He was also quoted as saying the restaurants located opposite Bangsar Village shopping complex, would be given six months to vacate the premises.

One Bangsar in a press release on Friday March 26 said Messrs. Tommy Thomas, Advocates and Solicitors have been appointed to act for them. Legal proceedings to challenge the validity of DBKL’s decision have been filed and their lawyers have advised that they have a strong case, the company said.
“We have not received any official notification from DBKL. We have no other choice but to do this (legal action),” a spokesperson for the company told theedgeproperty.com.
One Bangsar added that business would be conducted as usual pending a court decision.
Among the restaurants within the One Bangsar complex are Vincenzo, Regal House, Zen, House of Tang, Sagar, Cungdinh Vietnam and Bangsar Seafood Garden Restaurant.
