PETALING JAYA (June 4): Kepong will see a number of RumaWIP (Federal Territory Affordable Housing Policy) homes coming up over the next few years.
These units will be part of certain residential projects such as Enesta @ Jalan Kepong by Amona Land Sdn Bhd, and The Henge by Sinerjuta Sdn Bhd.
“Generally, with more new affordable housing that will be launched in Kepong, and the affordable prices of high-rise and landed residential properties, we suggest buyers purchase for their own stay due to affordability,” said VPC Alliance (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd managing director James Wong.
RumaWIP was first introduced in 2013 to enable city folk, especially those living in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan, to purchase homes at affordable prices.
These homes are priced at up to RM300,000 and may comprise one, two and three-bedroom apartments or low-cost landed homes with three bedrooms.
To qualify for these homes, buyers must have a household income of no more than RM10,000.
So, would you like to live in Kepong? It has a reputation of being one of the more old-fashioned spots in the city, but its location is just right as it straddles Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
Property experts believe that the area will attract younger residents/investors with new infrastructure projects and more modern developments that have come up in recent years. It is still a work in progress.
