KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Ir Wong Foon Meng as its new chairman.

Wong, 56, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

He served the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in various positions for 13 years before leaving to become a consulting engineer.

"I am honoured and privileged to serve Bina Puri Holdings Bhd and thank the board for their confidence in me," Wong said in a statement by Bina Puri on May 27.

The Executive Director of Bina Puri Holdings, Matthew Tee said: "We look forward to Wong's leadership with his wide experience."

Bina Puri is a prominent construction player with more than 35 years of experience in civil engineering and building works.  -- Bernama
