- The schools will be developed in two phases and cater to 2,400 students across 48 classrooms once completed. The first phase of both schools is targeted to be completed by 2026.
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 5): Gamuda Land, the property arm of Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA), commenced the construction of two public primary schools in its 1,530-acre (619.17-hectare) Gamuda Cove township in Kuala Langat, Selangor, on Wednesday.
According to a press statement, the schools will be developed in two phases and cater to 2,400 students across 48 classrooms once completed. The first phase of both schools is targeted to be completed by 2026.
Gamuda chairman Tan Sri Ambrin Buang said, “When we master-planned Gamuda Cove, our vision was to create an urban sanctuary and smart city, where people can truly grow up and grow old in. By ensuring that education is integrated into our developments, alongside public parks, commercial centres, and green spaces, we aim to provide families with a home place where they can thrive. These schools are a testament to our commitment to building vibrant, self-sustaining communities, where residents can enjoy a high quality of life.”
By the time the schools are completed in 2026, the statement said Gamuda Land will have handed over more than 3,200 residential units in Gamuda Cove, bringing an estimated population of over 13,000 to the township.
In addition to the primary schools, Gamuda Cove is already hosting the Big Apple Preschool at The Hive, catering to early childhood education, and will welcome an affordable international school by Taylor’s Education Group by 2027.
The statement said these educational institutions address the region's growing demand for schooling options. With the nearest public school located 20 minutes away, the new schools will serve not only Gamuda Cove residents, but also families from neighbouring areas, such as Bandar Saujana Putra and IJM Rimbayu, it added.
Meanwhile, the township’s 90-acre Wetlands Arboretum was designed as a hub for environmental education, as it offers students and the wider community an out-of-classroom opportunity to learn about biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable living in an immersive natural setting, the statement said.
Some amenities at Gamuda Cove include four commercial hubs, namely Townsquare, Bay Square, Bay Street and The Hive, offering over 180 retail spaces for lifestyle, food and beverages and daily conveniences, as well as recreational facilities such as 75km of cycling and walking paths, and eco-friendly transport options like the operational e-tram service.
To enhance connectivity, an upcoming 2km toll-free Cyberjaya Link is being planned. It is expected to be opened in 2025, reducing travel time to Cyberjaya and nearby areas.
