KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 2): Co-working space provider INFINITY8 opened its first Penang outlet located at the former Standard Chartered Bank in Beach Street, George Town on Sunday.

Dubbed INFINITY8 Reserve George Town, the new outlet’s opening ceremony was officiated by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

In a press statement on Monday, Chow pointed out that the opening of INFINITY8’s new regional office in Penang will be a positive added value for the state’s economic landscape.

“This co-working space acts as an affordable platform for businesses, allowing entrepreneurs to invest more in expanding workforce opportunities for the youth, stimulating economic growth. For foreign enterprises, INFINITY8 offers a strategic entry point, as they are equipped with an all-round, comprehensive business solution service that minimises investment risks and logistical barriers, therefore easing market entry. This initiative is set to attract foreign direct investment into Penang, further bolstering the region’s economic development. I am optimistic that INFINITY8 will continue to reap many benefits from its branch in Penang, the Silicon Valley of the East,” he noted.

The co-working space will provide features such as 24-hour access, administrative support, parcel collection services, a quiet breakout zone, private phone booths and a snooze lounge to enhance productivity. Bookings for day passes and meeting rooms are supported by an in-house mobile app. It also provides flexible membership plans and customisable office solutions catering to different companies.

“It has always been our goal to create designated areas meant for collaborative work and a sense of community. This new location allows us to provide affordable workspaces, ideal for startups, local corporations and even foreign businesses to grow without the heavy costs associated with traditional office spaces,” said INFINITY8 chief executive officer and co-founder Lee Sheah Liang in the same statement.
