KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): Hong Kong actor Lam Chung (pictured), who became famous playing villains in dramas and movies died of a heart attack on Jan 31 at age 75, said reports.
The Star reported that the sad news was announced by president of the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers Tin Kai Man to Apple Daily.
“He had a heart attack at 10pm and passed away. Lam Chung settled in Zhanjiang (Guangdong Province, China) in 2010 and we rarely kept in touch in recent years.
"I wasn’t aware that he had any illness, so (it was a shock) when someone notified me of his death," said Tin.
Lam hit the limelight for his “supporting roles” in classic movies that are now classics such as like 1987’s A Better Tomorrow II and Rich and Famous.
According to a report by Singapore-based portal Today, Lam was born in Macau and raised in Hongkong
He acted in close to 100 films often played the bad guy next to household names such as Chow Yun Fat, Tony Leung, Simon Yam, and the late Leslie Cheung.
