KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 25): Two MPs, namely Simpang Renggam MP Maszlee Malik and Keningau MP Datuk Jeffrey Kitingan, were seen entering the Istana Negara (pictured) at about 2.20pm today.

This was 10 minutes before the first group of MPs were due to meet with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah for a series of personal interviews starting at 2.30pm.

Also seen at about 3pm was MP for Sembrong and ex-defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein.

To recap, the one-on-one interviews are to determine who commands the majority of the Dewan Rakyat to eventually become the next and eighth prime minister of Malaysia.

Ninety MPs are scheduled to be interviewed by the Agong today, with the Chief Secretary to the Government to witness the exchanges.
