KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 8): Tadmax Resources Bhd managing director Datuk Seri Anuar Adam has been redesignated non-executive deputy chairman, effective today.

Executive director Datuk Seri Gan Seong Liam, 63, replaces Anuar, 74, as managing director, the company said in a bourse filing yesterday.

Anuar comes from a military background and was involved in the construction of industrialised building systems (IBS) in Malaysia. He also has experience in Uruguay, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Seychelles and Pakistan. He joined the group as its managing director in October 2014.

Gan was appointed to the board on Feb 26, 2019. He had previously served on Tadmax's board between Aug 12, 2016, and Nov 23, 2017 but had resigned then due to work commitments. He is also the managing director for 100%-owned subsidiary Wawasan Metro Bina Sdn Bhd.

Tadmax closed 2.04% or half a sen higher at 25 sen yesterday, valuing the company at RM195.94 million. Some 395,800 shares were transacted.
