PETALING JAYA (Nov 23): The Auditor-General’s (AG) report on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) in 2016 had been amended, following the orders of then prime minister Najib Razak, Utusan reported, citing unnamed sources.

The changes ordered are reported to involve the removal of parts related to his (Najib’s) and Jho Low’s involvement in the investment fund.

The daily’s sources say that amendments were made at a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in the presence of then Auditor-General Ambrin Buang.

Those present include Chief Secretary to the government Dr Ali Hamsa, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Dzulkifli Ahmad and principal private secretary to the Prime Minister Shukri Mohd Salleh.

Ambrin had, on October 30, denied that the report had been tampered with in a response to a claim by Public Accounts Committee (PAC) deputy chairman Wong Kah Woh. The PAC was in possession of the report, as part of its investigation into 1MDB.

Utusan reports that the PAC will now resume its investigation, after previously putting a halt to it, following advice from the Attorney-General’s office.
