PETALING JAYA (Oct 5): The government will reveal its final decision on the abolition of toll charges in two to three months, said Works Minister Baru Bian today.

In a Malaysiakini report, the Selangau MP said he was confident in achieving a solution that benefits all stakeholders.

He also called upon all stakeholders to understand why the government could not eliminate toll charges within its first 100 days of power and urged them to accept the final decision.

The abolition of toll charges was one of the 10 election pledges by Pakatan Harapan, but the revelation of the nation's challenging finances – in the form of RM1 trillion in debt commitments – has forced the new government which took power on May 9 to delay its decision on the matter.
