PETALING JAYA (Sept 6): A Datuk who claimed to be acting on behalf of Prime Minster Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had threatened to demolish a village in Klang, reported Free Malaysia Today.

A representative of Kampung Bukit Kuda named Manis Baba said the person had approached her on Hari Raya Aidiladha and said he was ordered by the premier to demolish the village.

She added that the Datuk, who was accompanied by four alleged policemen, threatened to burn down their homes if they refused to move out.

When she requested to see documents from the authorities, the man just motioned to a police officer named Nasir who then purportedly brandished his gun to scare the villagers.

This latest attempt to evict the villagers from their homes have prompted a group of 20 of them to head to Putrajaya to deliver a memorandum urging the Prime Minister to end abuse of power.

Parti Sosialis Malaysia's S Arutchelvan, who accompanied the villagers to Putrajaya, said in this era of Malaysia Baharu, the Prime Minister's name should not be misused and those involved in the case should be investigated for abuse of power.

According to Manis, in 2015, a man named Faizal claimed he owned the land in the village and tried to force the villagers to leave.

However, two years ago the villagers were legally granted the right to the land as they had been living there for over 50 years.
