PETALING JAYA (July 25): The house of Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad in Nilai was burgled early this morning, reported Bernama.
Three burglars who were wearing masks and brandishing machetes and knives broke into the 2-storey house at Nilai Springs Heights in Negeri Sembilan at 4.55am, making off with RM14,900 worth of goods and cash, said Negeri Sembilan chief police officer Datuk Noor Azam Jamaluddin in a statement.
The men, who were believed to be foreigners, possibly gained entry into the home through a rear sliding window.
They tied up two of the three adults who were at home with telephone wire and covered them with blankets.
There were also four children asleep at home but the burglars did not disturb them.
The burglars ran away with RM5,700 in cash, two gold chains worth RM3,500, three watches worth RM3,000, a gold bangle worth RM1,500, and a diamond ring worth RM1,200.
According to Noor Azam, a security guard at the home was asleep during the break-in while the CCTV were not functioning.
The police have appealed to the public to come forward with information on the incident to assist in investigations.
