KUALA LUMPUR (July 23): Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz (pictured) has been appointed chairman of the board at Sime Darby Property Bhd.

Zeti, who is already group chairman of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) and a member of the Council of Eminent Persons, assumes chairmanship effective today, Sime Darby Property announced in a statement.

She replaces Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, who resigned from the board on June 30, 2018. She is also the first woman chairman of the board at the developer.

“We are honoured and pleased to welcome Tan Sri Dr. Zeti to the board of Sime Darby Property. Her presence reaffirms PNB’s commitment to Sime Darby Property and our transformation journey.

“We look forward to work under the Chairmanship of Tan Sri Dr Zeti in moving the company forward and to deliver value to our stakeholders,” said group managing director, Sime Darby Property, Amrin Awaluddin in the same statement.

She led BNM in successfully implementing the selective exchange controls to restore stability and promote economic recovery in the country.
