Accessibility and Transportation
Accessibility is good as there is Jalan Kepong that extends to the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), Damansara-Puchong Expressway that runs north-south, Jalan Ipoh leads to the city centre and the North-South Highway, as well as Penchala Link that provides easy access to Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. There are two train stations on the commuter's Rawang-Seremban route, namely the Kepong KTM station and Kepong Sentral KTM station. RapidKL and other operators provide reliable bus services to Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas. Despite all these, the traffic congestion is still bad due to the rapid development. To ease traffic congestion, there will be 3 MRT stations from the MRT Line 2 in Kepong - Kepong Sentral, Metro Prima and Kepong Baru scheduled for completion by 2021. The non-landed residential properties around the stations - First Residence, Fortune Avenue, Mutiara Magna and Suria Magna, have seen an increase in property price and rental rates. Most of the properties in the area are old, landed house that are sold fairly quickly.

Amenities in the vicinity include local and international schools, colleges, shopping malls, hypermarkets - AEON Jusco and Tesco, wet markets in Kepong and nearby Selayang, banks, eateries, restaurants and hospitals (Park City Medical Centre). Most of the schools are Chinese schools, bearing witness to it local community. The bustling township has parks and nature reserves, such as the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), Kepong Metropolitan Park in the north of Jinjang and Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve.
Back in the 1860s, Kepong was a tin-mining are with a large Chinese population. Today, the area is well settled by the local Chinese and there is no shortage of economic and festive activities here. Kepong is well known as a food haven for Chinese cuisine ranging from steamboat, bak kut teh, dim sum, be it in stalls in hawker centres to more upmarket restaurants such as Sin Choi Wah Restaurant.
