Bertam is a small town located in Kepala Batas, an agricultural district in northern Seberang Perai, Penang. With large areas of palm estates, Bertam got its name from Bertam palm tree.
Kepala Batas, where Bertam is located in, is the ancestral hometown of Malaysiaโs former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Bertam is about 20km away from the Penang Bridge, and is accessible from the North South Expressway from the Bertam toll plaza.
