Overview
Technology Park Malaysia is spread across 700-acres that currently houses over 150 tech companies located in Bukit Jalil. Developed by Technology Park Malaysia Corporation, an agency of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), the park helps develop tech-based start-ups through the rental of incubator premises for scientists, researchers, and technology-focused entrepreneurs.
The park is home to the Multimedia Super Corridor or MSC. It also, along with the Integrated Transport Information System or IT IS, runs many of the country’s informative systems.
TPM also provides assistance to incubate and commercialise technology using resources from its Centre for Technology Commercialisation and the Innovation Incubation Centre.
Technology Park Malaysia is located about 566 metres from Kompleks Sukan Negara. The park has twelve buildings, each specializing in a particular field.
Property Development
There are no residential properties in the park, but the nearest ones are Vista Komanwel Condominiums, the Villa Pavilion (located at Taman Bukit Serdang) and the Arena Green Apartments, all within a 10-minute drive
Amenities and Facilities
Contrary to the mechanical feel of the Park, it also provides a gym, a sauna, food courts, a bank and even a clinic.
Good landscaping that has provided much needed greenery encapsulates the area to give it a conducive feel for developing technology. Its very nature produces countless employment opportunities.
In early January 2016, a young entrepreneur, Ambrose Solomon, opened an academy for the deaf in Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) and has six students. The objective of the academy is to train children to take up jobs in the animation industry, an avenue suitable for the deaf.
There is only one university for the deaf in the world – Gallaudet University, which is based in Washington in the United States.
