Overview
Kuala Lumpur, home to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and a population of 1.7 million, is Malaysia’s largest city and federal capital. Situated on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur means “muddy confluence” in Malay, referring to the point where the Klang and Gombak rivers meet when the city was first founded by Chinese tin miners in 1857.
